Tyrone advises across the full range of employment and workplace relations, industrial relations, work health and safety and local government.
Overview
Tyrone's experience extends to advice and defence of small and complex employment and industrial disputes and litigation. He advises and acts in all employment-related matters including general protections, unfair dismissal, enterprise bargaining, restraint of trade, case management and workplace investigations. Tyrone also practices in discrimination law across employment and education.
Tyrone frequently conducts workplace investigations including sensitive investigations involving public interest disclosures. He works closely with his clients to understand their matters to provide strategic and pragmatic workplace and industrial advice to support their business objectives. Tyrone acts for a broad range of clients, including across government (local, state and federal), education, faith-based, construction, manufacturing, hospitality and legal services industries.
Tyrone has extensive experience in local government and advises on a wide range of local government related matters. Tyrone has an in-depth understanding of the Queensland Industrial Relations system and his expertise extends across all areas of local government including administrative, regulatory, employment, Councillor conduct and enforcement of local government related laws including conducting prosecutions and sentencing hearings for offences.
His knowledge and experience allows him to provide strategic, commercial and pragmatic advice to clients, guiding his clients through complex employment disputes and partnering with them to deliver outcomes aligned with business objectives.
Tyrone was admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Queensland in 2018 and the High Court of Australia. He has a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Queensland University of Technology, 2018. He was also awarded a Bachelor of Business (major in Human Resources Management) from the Australian Catholic University, plus a Diploma of Community Welfare Work. Tyrone is a Justice of the Peace (Qualified).
