At Colin Biggers & Paisley since 1982, Paul started his career as a construction lawyer working for contractors in civil engineering and construction disputes and for principals on large commercial construction ventures.
Overview
In the mid 1980s, Paul began acting for construction industry consultants, particularly architects and engineers instructed by their professional indemnity insurers. These cases range from large industrial, commercial and infrastructure projects to civic projects such as museums, monuments and swimming pools and to high rise apartments and domestic dwellings.
Paul has also acted for other professions, instructed by their professional indemnity insurers, on D&O liability, construction risk insurance and property recovery claims. Paul has also drafted policies on home warranty insurance and professional indemnity.
Paul has acted as defence and coverage counsel in securities class actions.
Paul advises construction industry consultants on their consultancy agreements.
Paul has been consistently recognised for his expertise in The Best Lawyers in Australia for Construction and infrastructure law, Insurance law, Product liability litigation, Personal injury litigation and Professional malpractice litigation.
Paul was admitted as a solicitor in NSW on 9 July 1982, became a partner in 1988 and is admitted to practice in the Supreme Courts of NSW, Victoria and the ACT, Federal Court and High Court of Australia.
