Karen Lo
Special Counsel
A member of the Construction and Engineering team since 2013, and Special Counsel since 2022, Karen works with her clients on construction litigation and dispute resolution including mediation, arbitration and expert determination.
Overview
Karen advises principals, contractors and subcontractors on infrastructure projects and residential construction projects to resolve disputes during project delivery, contract administration and post completion disputes, including in the Supreme Court of NSW's Technology and Construction and Commercial Lists, District Court of NSW and the NSW Civil & Administrative Tribunal. Karen's experience extends to advising on future liability and risk management.
Karen is experienced with matters related to the Building and Construction Industry Security of Payments Act 1999 (NSW), Home Building Act 1989 (NSW), Residential Apartment Buildings (Compliance and Enforcement Powers) Act 2020 (NSW) and Design and Building Practitioners Act 2020 (NSW).
Karen's practice includes advising and assisting in resolving construction defects disputes, combustible cladding disputes, and advising on insurance claims in connection with construction disputes.
Karen holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of New South Wales. Karen was admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 2013.
