Our market-renowned Transport, Marine & Aviation team advises local and international reinsurers, insurers and their insureds operating across the transport and logistics sectors.
We are especially known for our expertise in marine insurance, including all matters relating to reinsurance and cargo, hull, liability and protection and indemnity policies. We also advise on trade and transport law, supply chain and logistics contracts, terms and conditions of carriage, aviation claims, road and rail carrier liability, and subrogated recovery actions.
With extensive knowledge of the Australian Insurance Contracts Act 1984 (Cth) and the Marine Insurance Act 1909 (Cth), we advise on indemnity, recovery and litigation, as well as on policy interpretation and wording, regarding:

- liability, including road carriers and marina operators
- reinsurance
- protection and indemnity, and
- claims defence.
Our experience includes advising on ship arrests, charter party litigation, judicial sales of vessels, marine casualties, salvage, environmental issues and offshore energy facilities. We also advise on disputes concerning imports and exports, and advising port authorities, and ship and airline operators.
We have acted for insurers of airlines, aircraft operators, freight forwarders, airport operators, governments, regulators, cargo exporters and importers across a wide range of claims, and advised on drafting and amending of a range of aviation insurance policies.
