A special counsel in the Disputes & Investigations team since 2021, Simon has extensive experience in insurance law, torts and commercial disputes.
Overview
Simon is a vigorous advocate for his clients, remaining cool under pressure when facing tough opposition. He has acted for some of Australia's largest insurers and corporations, with long-standing clients who view him as a safe pair of hands who can provide tailored advice on relevant issues across a broad range of disputes.
Simon advises on commercial litigation, insurance litigation, partnership/shareholder disputes, property damage claims, risk management, agricultural disputes, electricity distribution network related disputes, building and construction disputes, insolvency applications to set-aside statutory demands, preference claims, property disputes, misleading and deceptive conduct, defence of personal injury common law claims, TAC and medical negligence claims, debt enforcement, including acting in creditors petitions for bankruptcy, winding up applications, and debt recovery.
Simon is a member of the Law institute of Victoria and was admitted to the Supreme Court of Victoria on 29 March 2004. He is also admitted to practice in the High Court of Australia. In addition to his Bachelor of Laws, Simon holds a Bachelor of Science from Deakin University.
