Overview
Over his 20 year career, Patrick has defended claims made against a wide range of professionals. Patrick has had a particular focus on claims against lawyers (both solicitors and barristers). But he has also acted for many other professionals, including accountants, mortgage brokers, real estate agents, conveyancers and construction professionals (engineers, building surveyors, etc). His practice includes both large and small claim matters in all Victorian courts and tribunals, and in federal jurisdictions.
Patrick has provided coverage advice to insurer clients on a range of policies and insurance issues. Many of his insurer clients are locally-based underwriting agencies backed by Lloyd's.
Patrick has been recognised for his expertise in insurance law. He was named in Doyle's Guide 2015 to 2023 as a Leading Professional Indemnity Lawyer in Melbourne, and in The Best Lawyers in Australia he has been recognised for Insurance Law, Litigation, Professional Malpractice Litigation, Legal Malpractice Litigation, and Alternative Dispute Resolution.
Patrick holds a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce from Monash University, and was admitted as a solicitor in Victoria in 2005. He is also admitted in both the Federal Court and High Court of Australia.
