Lauren Flint

Senior Associate

A senior associate in Colin Biggers & Paisley's insurance team since 2024, Lauren's work is predominantly in the institutional risk and liability space.

Overview

She works closely with insurers, schools, faith-based institutions, residential aged care and disability service providers, community services and not-for-profit sectors on claims of bodily injury, institutional liability matters, professional indemnity and general liability. She also advises clients on strategic governance, compliance and risk management issues, particularly in relation to child safety. Her earlier experience is with motor vehicle accidents, medical negligence, workers compensation and public liability claims.

Lauren's practice also includes managing faith-based clients' National Redress Scheme claims portfolios, a topic she also presents and advises on generally.

Clients value Lauren's substantial defendant insurance experience in dispute resolution, litigated and unlitigated matters across many Australian jurisdictions namely NSW, Victoria, ACT and the NT. They have also commended her grace and deft. She has built her reputation on handling complex and sensitive claims in a commercial yet compassionate manner.

Lauren has co-authored a number of  publications about relevant topics in the institutional risk and liability space. Since 2021 she has also volunteered with Inclusee, an organisation that facilitates one-on-one social interactions for isolated elders.

Prior to joining Colin Biggers & Paisley, Lauren gained in-house experience working at a large insurance company for a number of years. In 2024, she also attended a part-time secondment with a client, the Catholic Diocese of Parramatta. Both of these experiences have provided invaluable insight and informed Lauren's strategy representing insurers and institutions.

Lauren graduated from the University of Technology Sydney with a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Business in 2019. She was admitted to the Supreme Court of NSW in 2020.
