About the role:
  
We are seeking a casual paralegal to join our Employment & Safety Team in our Brisbane office, working 2-3 days per week.
  
Our team has extensive experience in contentious and non-contentious employment and industrial matters. Our workplace relations team is highly regarded, and regularly rated among the best in Queensland. Our industry experience includes the not for profit sector, healthcare, education, local, state and federal government employers, the retail and service sectors, finance, professional services, construction, engineering and manufacturing. Our clients include some of the largest employers in Queensland, including the most recognisable and trusted brands.

If successful in your application you will be responsible for:
  • Undertaking research based tasks and report findings and research
  • Assisting solicitors with thought leadership including preparing presentations, articles and updates for our clients
  • Producing legal work with a commercial view and pragmatic approach
  • Has a good understanding of the law in the practice group you are working in
  • Keeping up to date with changes in the law and relevant business context
  • Completing all allocated work diligently and within the specified timeframe
  • Recording time promptly, accurately in Elite 3E
  • Assisting with the day to day operations of our legal practice
About you:

You will be supported in this close knit group, given training, mentoring and guidance from your peers and leader. You will need to be self-motivated and adaptable in this dynamic environment. Ideal background and skills include:
  • Prior experience as an Paralegal highly regarded, but not essential
  • Ideal role for law students with an interest in Employment & Safety, or who are looking for an opportunity to learn more about this exciting area of practice 
  • Strong academic transcript
  • Perform your responsibilities honestly and to a professional standard at all times
  • Have a lawful right to work in Australia
  • Excellent client service
  • High attention to detail 
  • Exceptional communication skills, including interpersonal and written
  • Strong research and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, respond promptly and effectively to clients
  • Knowledge and experience of Microsoft products and iManage (document management system) preferred.
