About the role:
This is an exciting opportunity for an IT Systems Engineer to join an established IT team. Responsibilities include:
- Assist in maintaining all CBP IT systems, servers and infrastructure nationally to ensure the highest possible uptime in and out of business hours.
- Assisting the Head of Technology Operations and Security in any teams responsibilities as needed.
- Providing coordination between strategic suppliers such as backup, Disaster Recovery (DRP) testing and cyber-security testing.
- Communicating IT needs and issues to the Head of Technology Operations and Security and/or Chief Information Officer.
- Respond to client tenders and IT security questionnaires.
- Participate in IT DRP testing.
- Participate in maintaining standards and policies relating to ISO27001 and other similar recognised standards.
- Provide 3rd level technical/helpdesk support via phone/face to face/email nationally.
- Support of Microsoft Windows Server Infrastructure.
- Manage Azure App, SQL and Networking.
- Interface and liaise with strategic vendors on IT issues and account management as required.
- Be a part of the Systems Administrators team, including day to day duties.
- Coordinate regular backup and DRP tests through our IaaS provider.
- Drive and co-ordinate patching of systems and critical infrastructure.
- Assist with firewall and SD WAN design and maintenance.
- Technical lead on projects and other deliverables.
- Ensuring daily, weekly and monthly processes are executed and completed as required.
- Manage on going maintenance activities on infrastructure and applications.
- Comply with all IT security polices and practices.
- Proven 8+ years experience in systems/network administration in a Microsoft Windows Network.
- Relevant IT certifications or equivalent experience (including IT security certifications).
- Experience with information security principles, such as ISO 27001, NIST, ASD Essential 8. Experience with Australian Privacy Principles desirable.
- Experience managing an ISMS, including risk, prevention and incident logging.
- Extensive knowledge & experience of Microsoft products (Office, Exchange Online, Windows etc). Experience with Legal Tech ideal, but not essential.
- Experience in supporting a professional services environment.
- Support experience with 400+ users nationally.
- Knowledge of Active Directory and networking such as DNS, DHCP, IAS as well as hybrid solutions.
- Strong research and troubleshooting techniques.
- Ability to keep up to date with security risks to our operating environments.
- Exceptional communication skills, including interpersonal and written including writing proposals and presentation at executive level.
- Ability to work under pressure, respond promptly and effectively and remain calm.
- Excellent customer service focus providing a high level of service to internal clients.
- Experience in supporting a professional services environment.
- Support experience with 100+ servers/infrastructure nationally.
- Experience with Microsoft technologies such as Microsoft 365, SQL and SCCM.
- Experience with Azure Solutions including vNetworks, WebApps, Entra Conditional Access etc.
