About the role:

This role is an integral part of CBP's Business Development team. Key responsibilities include: 

External facing responsibilities:

Work with the BD Manager to:
  • Develop and deliver the "go to market" strategy and activities for our Built Environment and selected Commercial groups, which are two areas that are poised for growth and have strong "go to market" plans.
  • Support (and at times lead) profile raising, relationship building and sales campaigns and activities across our three offices for the Built Environment and Commercial Groups.
  • Act as a contact for lawyers for all BD related inquiries.
  • Contribute to the preparation of tenders and proposals, and prepare capability statements, contact cards and other targeted client materials.
  • Work with the BD Manager, Client Relationship Partners and client teams on the day to day management of key clients across these groups. This will include documenting plans, conducting research, relationship mapping and reporting on progress of activities and initiatives.
Work with the BD Manager and Brand & Communications team to:
  • Develop and deliver profiling and client engagement marketing campaigns (including digital, video and face to face).
  • Draft and/or review external communications to clients (thought leadership and campaigns) and activities (social media and website) and any other communications.
  • Draft and/or review award submissions and deal releases.
  • Undertake new lawyer onboarding tasks.
  • Work with the BCM team to prepare post activity dashboards.
Work with the BD Manager and the Events team to:
  • Plan and deliver profile raising, relationship building and key client events across allocated groups.
  • Attend the events, prepare post event dashboard and assist Brand & Communications team with event promotions.
  • Maximise outbound sponsorship benefits. Provide day to day contact for partner organisations.
Internal facing responsibilities:
  • Work with the group leads and BDM on ad hoc internal activities including regular reporting and team meeting and AGM presentations.
  • Ensure groups are leveraging internal communications channels including CBP Intranet (COLIN), Good News Stories, to raise their profile within the practice and celebrate success.
  • Support and contribute to the trusted reputation of the Brand, Clients & Markets team in the practice, and contribute to a strong respectful culture within the Brand, Clients & Markets team.
  • Represent the Brand, Clients & Markets team in Colin Biggers & Paisley's cross-practice workgroups, committees and project teams where required.
  • Support the Brand, Clients & Markets group on ad hoc activities and projects where required.
The successful candidate:
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in business development or marketing.
  • Sound understanding of professional services firm marketing theory and related concepts/structures/activities.
  • Proven experience in working with business areas and practice groups to progress BD, marketing and CRM-specific strategies, initiatives and activities.
  • Tertiary qualifications in marketing, business or communications.
  • Excellent customer service and client-centric work ethic.
  • Sound knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office suite, a CRM system and related IT platforms.
  • A team player with a preference for collaboration.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
