Colin Biggers & Paisley Foundation launches major fundraiser Stand Up For RizeUp supporting RizeUp Australia.
Stand Up for RizeUp was held in May, challenging participants to 88,000 steps in 8 days whilst fundraising for RizeUp. The challenge will allow all our people to connect in small groups, exercise and have fun, while making a meaningful contribution to the families RizeUp assists. A collective goal of $40,000 was set for RizeUp and their Homes Program.
The Colin Biggers & Paisley Foundation has partnered with RizeUp Australia to collaborate on one of our focus areas: promoting and protecting the rights of women and children.
In Australia, domestic and family violence is disturbingly common. It is one of the main drivers of homelessness among women, children and men. It affects everyone - all races, religions and social classes.
The Colin Biggers & Paisley Foundation is committed to making a positive change for the families affected by domestic and family violence, this is why we have partnered with RizeUp Australia. RizeUp’s programs promote women’s independence and decision-making in public life and relationships, which is a key outcome to preventing domestic violence.
A family fleeing from a violent household will often enter a refuge with nothing but the clothes on their backs. RizeUp have created various programs to support and empower these courageous families via specialist domestic and family violence organisations. When a family leaves a refuge, RizeUp furnish their new accommodation with everything they need to make it a home, so they can make a fresh start.
The RizeUp Homes Program sets up and furnishes the homes sourced by specialist services to support clients moving on from domestic violence.
