We are seeking a senior associate or special counsel to join our leading Brisbane Insurance team, working with Patrick Cavanagh, Partner.
The successful candidate will join our busy and growing professional indemnity/financial lines team working on a variety of matters for domestic and international insurers (including Lloyd's syndicates) as both coverage and defence counsel, including:
The role will suit a Senior Associate/Special Counsel looking to take the next step in their career by further developing their skills and experience and to make their mark on the insurance industry by joining like-minded practitioners to develop their own brand in the industry and a team around them.

We are seeking a senior associate or special counsel to join our leading Brisbane Insurance team, working with Patrick Cavanagh, Partner.
The successful candidate will join our busy and growing professional indemnity/financial lines team working on a variety of matters for domestic and international insurers (including Lloyd's syndicates) as both coverage and defence counsel, including:
- Providing advice on indemnity with respect to claims on professional indemnity, management liability and directors and officers policies of insurance in relation to civil claims, regulatory investigations, fidelity claims and coronial investigation and inquests.
- Providing advices to insurers on large loss in relation to construction projects on general and project specific professional indemnity policies and contract works policies.
- Acting as defence counsel for a wide variety of professionals including barrister, accountants, liquidators, insurance brokers, engineers, architects, allied health practitioners, builders and building and pest inspectors with respect to both civil claims and regulatory investigations and prosecutions.

The successful candidate:
- 5+ years' PQE with experience in professional indemnity/financial lines matters
- A desire to be an integral member of a strong and cohesive team who work together

- Ability to manage client expectations and run matters autonomously
- Interested in establishing a long-term successful career with Colin Biggers & Paisley
