A Senior Associate in Colin Biggers & Paisley's Restructuring and Insolvency team, Sanaz acts for insolvency practitioners, secured creditors, company directors, and individuals across all areas of insolvency, restructuring, bankruptcy, commercial litigation and debt recovery.
Overview
Sanaz is experienced in acting for financial institutions and lending syndicates in their enforcement of securities, recovery of unsecured loans as well as in commercial disputes between corporate financiers and borrowers in relation to distressed debts.
Sanaz provides bespoke advice to clients in relation to corporate restructures, including the entry into deeds of company arrangement and safe harbour and protections. She regularly acts for individuals, bankruptcy trustees and government agencies in matters concerning the Bankruptcy Act.
Since 2021, Sanaz has been a committee member sitting on the Women's Insolvency Network Australia (NSW Branch). She is also a member of the Australian Restructuring Insolvency & Turnaround Association and the Turnaround Management Association of Australia. In 2023, Sanaz was named as a finalist in the Lawyers Weekly 30 under 30 awards in the Insolvency and Restructuring category.
Sanaz holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and Bachelor of Arts from the Australian National University. In 2023, she completed the Australian Restructuring, Insolvency and Turnaround Association (ARITA) Advanced Certification with Distinction. Sanaz was admitted to practice in October 2020.
