Overview
He has considerable experience assisting his clients in significant commercial and industrial property acquisition and disposals, due diligence, leasing and development, with a focus on the transport and infrastructure sectors. His advisory practice focuses on corporate and government matters, insolvency and land tax appeal work.
Matthew provides strategic advice to leading property developers, institutional property owners, and high-net-worth private clients. He is experienced in handling major transactions both interstate and overseas and regularly acts for federal, state, and local government departments and statutory bodies.
In the 2019 and 2022 editions of Doyle's Guide, Matthew is listed as a leading Property and Real Estate Lawyer in Queensland. In the 2025 edition of The Best Lawyers in Australia, he was recognised for his expertise in Government Practice. In the 2020 to 2025 editions of The Best Lawyers in Australia, he was recognised for his expertise in Real Property Law. In the 2021 to 2025 editions, Best Lawyers also recognised his expertise in Leasing. Matthew is a member of the Queensland Division of the Property Council of Australia’s Industrial Property Committee. He frequently speaks at internal and external industry-focused presentations.
Matthew holds a Bachelor of Business and a Bachelor of Laws. He was admitted to practice in Queensland on 16 March 1998.
