A special counsel in our Corporate & Commercial team, Sue offers over 20 years of experience advising private companies and family businesses in a range of commercial matters, including mergers and acquisitions, business structuring and joint ventures, business licensing, franchising, corporations compliance and fundraising, and business advisory.


Overview

In particular, Sue's experience includes advising on legal and commercial issues relating to the Corporations Act, Australian Consumer Law and the Personal Property Securities Act.

Sue also advises clients on implementing appropriate estate and incapacity planning strategies, including powers of attorney, to ensure their personal and business assets are protected, managed and transferred in accordance with their wishes. She assists executors and administrators to obtain grants of probate, letters of administration and reseals, and to administer estates in accordance with wills, or under intestacy law. Sue also acts for clients in estate disputes.

Sue's clients appreciate her ability to explain complex legal concepts in plain language, as well as her empathy and willingness to take the time to understand their business goals and operations.  

In addition to her Bachelor of Laws, Sue holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Melbourne. Sue was admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Victoria on 7 May 2001 and the High Court of Australia and is a member of the Law Institute of Victoria.
