A partner in the Insurance group, and the Wills & Estates Planning team, Peter has over 40 years' experience in insurance, commercial litigation and estate litigation.
Overview
He has experience in the defence of claims against solicitors and other professionals (primarily estate agents and conveyancers), as well as expertise in the defence of public liability personal injury litigation, estate litigation, workers compensation and complex debt recovery.
Peter's practice includes large-scale and high volume recovery actions as well as life insurance regulatory advice and claims defence policy drafting. He also acts for workers' compensation insurers and for larger self-insured corporations in the defence of personal injury and workers' compensation claims.
Peter's practice covers professional indemnity, general liability, product liability, estate litigation, risk management, life insurance, policy drafting and interpretation, dispute resolution avenues, including mediation and arbitration, health and medical, reinsurance, workers' compensation and wills and probate litigation.
He regularly presents on risk management to the legal profession, real estate agents and licensed conveyancers. Peter also conducted training sessions for regional legal practitioners throughout NSW.
Peter has been listed in the 2015 to 2025 editions of The Best Lawyers in Australia as a leading Insurance lawyer. In the 2024 and 2025 editions, Peter was also listed for his expertise in Professional Malpractice Litigation.
He was admitted as a solicitor in New South Wales on 8 July 1983 and is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of NSW, Federal Court and High Court of Australia.
