Katherine Pickerd
Special Counsel
Katherine is a Special Counsel in Colin Biggers & Paisley's Planning Infrastructure & Environment team. She is an expert in providing environmental services, with a particular focus on regulatory compliance and licensing obligations.
Overview
Katherine's experience includes working in- house for a large waste management company, giving her unique insights into the waste industry.
In her practice, Katherine offers strategic planning advice to a broad range of private entities on complex development projects, including commercial, mixed-use, and residential developments. She also assists dispossessed landowners with claims for compensation following the compulsory acquisition of their land by acquiring authorities. In addition, Katherine has extensive experience managing teams of barristers and experts in complex litigation, particularly in the Land and Environment Court.
Katherine holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Bachelor of Science majoring in biological sciences from the University of Wollongong. Katherine is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of New South Wales and the High Court of Australia. She is a member of the Environment and Planning Law Association NSW and the Law Society of NSW.
Outside of work, Katherine enjoys spending time outdoors with family and friends.
