James is a partner in Colin Biggers & Paisley's Construction & Engineering team. Since joining the practice in 2004, James became a partner in 2013 and assumed leadership of the Construction & Engineering team in 2024.
Overview
James brings decades of experience in advising contractors, principals, subcontractors, and consultants on a diverse range of projects across the construction, engineering, resources, and property development industries.
James' practice focuses on all forms of dispute resolution. He is also adept at advising on contract documentation and project risk allocation, with significant expertise on all matters relating to building and security of payment related legislation in New South Wales.
He regularly represents clients in the Supreme, District and Local Courts as well as Tribunals in New South Wales. Recognised by Doyle's Guide as a leading Construction and Infrastructure Lawyer in NSW in 2018 and from 2021 to 2023, James is highly respected in his field.
James holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and was admitted to practice on 22 October 2002.
