Debbie is known for her decisive advice that delivers practice clarity for her clients on claims strategy. She is an experienced insurance litigator with a focus on general liability and professional indemnity claims for both insurers and corporate clients.


Overview

Debbie’s experience in personal injury litigation spans a range of claims from minor injuries to catastrophic injuries, including paraplegia and quadriplegia cases. Likewise, Debbie supervises simple claims while also managing multiparty claims, including the Monash IVF Pty Limited class action. 

In general liability claims, Debbie provides cost-effective and commercial solutions while remaining cognisant of the relevant stakeholders' interests. Debbie represents a wide range of insureds, occupiers, sporting venues, recreational activity operators, commercial building owners, principal contractors, host employers, hotels, clubs, supermarkets and retailers. She has extensive experience with significant 'worker to worker' claims.

Instructed by professional indemnity insurers, Debbie specialises in medical and allied health. She has also acted for a wide range of professionals not limited to the health industry including architects, accountants, lawyers, engineers, real estate agents, insurance brokers and a wide range of other professionals. She has practised extensively in the Local, District and Supreme Courts over multiple jurisdictions in addition to having experience with coronial inquests, the HCCC, AHPRA, Human Rights Commission and the Information and Privacy Commissioner.

Debbie also has experience providing coverage advice with both general liability and professional indemnity policies of insurance.

In 2020, Doyle's Guide recommended Debbie as a Leading Public & Product Liability Lawyer (Defendant) in NSW and she has been named in The Best Lawyers in Australia for her expertise in Insurance law.

Debbie has a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Laws with Honours from the University of Adelaide. Debbie was admitted as a solicitor in South Australia in 2005 and was subsequently admitted in New South Wales, Federal Court and High Court of Australia.
