A senior associate in the insurance team since 2022, Azat is committed to delivering precise and strategic solutions tailored to meet his client's needs.
Overview
Azat specialises in insurance litigation, covering financial institutions, directors and officers (D&O), professional indemnity, complex coverage issues, cyber litigation, employment practices, and life insurance.
He advises insurers on coverage matters, including shareholder and consumer class actions, as well as regulatory investigations by ASIC and APRA. Azat also provides guidance on compliance with the Corporations Act, Superannuation Act, ASIC Act, and Insurance Contracts Act.
He is particularly skilled in cyber incident response, and has helped ASX20 clients with Privacy Act requirements and drafting insurer notifications.
His expertise also includes cyber litigation, employment law, and life insurance claims, guiding insurers in meeting their regulatory obligations.
In addition to his Bachelor of Laws and Legal Practice, Azat holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from Flinders University. He was admitted to the Supreme Court of South Australia on 16 October 2016 and to practice in the High Court of Australia.
