A special counsel in the insurance team since 2023, Alicia's practice focuses on litigation, dispute resolution, conduct and compliance matters. She has been peer-rated in 2025 as Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch for Insurance Law.
Overview
Alicia's expertise is in managing complex end-to-end claims involving personal injury, regulatory investigations, professional indemnity, child safety, litigated and un-litigated child abuse and asbestos matters across a range of courts, regulatory authorities and internal processes. Her practice includes civil wrongs, privacy and matters affecting non-profits, aged care, schools and religious institutions across Victoria, Tasmania and New South Wales.
She assists her religious, education and community services clients with issues and responses to requests from authorities and courts, to develop governance and compliance frameworks, and with reviewing and implementing child safety policies compliant with regulatory requirements.
Alicia also has a practice in responding to regulatory notices, investigations and requests including the AHPRA, Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission and the Commission for Children and Young People.
Alicia has been a Nationally Accredited Mediator through the Resolution Institute and holds a certificate for Conflict Resolution and Dispute Avoidance from the Australian Commercial Disputes Centre. She is on the Committee for Women in Insurance (Vic) and through Colin Biggers & Paisley's pro bono program she provides legal assistance with Youthlaw and Justice Connect. She has written a number of articles and presented seminars on current legal frameworks affecting her clients.
Alicia was admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Victoria on 9 December 2014. In addition to her Juris Doctor from the University of Melbourne, Alicia holds a Master of Laws (Legal Practice) from Australia National University and a Bachelor of Arts majoring jointly in English and American Literature and Sociology/ Anthropology with a minor in Economics from Middlebury College, USA.
