Overview

Scott's clients include many of Australia's leading insolvency and restructuring firms, Australian and US-based banks and financial institutions, multinational manufacturing, construction and property development companies, and several Australian universities.

Scott regularly advises on and enforces securities on behalf of financial institutions and lending syndicates. He has a wealth of experience in commercial dispute resolution, having conducted substantial commercial litigation across all Australian jurisdictions. Scott's practice focuses on alternative dispute resolution, and as a trained mediator, he has acted for parties in numerous complex commercial mediations and expert determinations.

Scott is an active member of various professional associations, including the Law Council of Australia's Insolvency and Reconstruction Sub-Committee and the Turnaround Management Association. He is a Fellow of the Australian Restructuring Insolvency & Turnaround Association. 

Scott is regarded as one of Australia's leading insolvency and restructuring lawyers, consistently recognised in legal industry directories. He is listed as a key individual in Chambers and Partners for restructuring and insolvency, and as a leading insolvency and litigation lawyer in Best Lawyers in Australia since its inception in 2008. Scott has also been featured in Who's Who Legal: Restructuring & Insolvency annually since 2012, and in Doyle's Guide as a leading insolvency and restructuring lawyer in 2018, 2019, 2022, and 2023.

Scott holds a Bachelor of Commerce, a Bachelor of Laws, and a Master of Laws. He was admitted to practice in New South Wales on 20 December 1985.
