Krystal is a senior associate in Colin Biggers & Paisley's Planning Government Infrastructure & Environment group. She specialises in providing legal advice on complex planning, infrastructure, and environmental law matters to local governments and private clients.
Overview
Krystal's work spans handling complex planning and infrastructure law issues, local government delegations, and land acquisition. She has extensive experience representing clients in detailed planning appeals in the Planning and Environment Court of Queensland, infrastructure-related cases in the Supreme Court of Queensland, and judicial reviews of decisions under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 in the Federal Court of Australia.
In the public sector, Krystal has reviewed and drafted various local government documents, including infrastructure agreements and enforcement manuals. She also provides strategic legal advice on litigation, tidal works, community facility land, and land valuation matters. For private clients, Krystal offers legal guidance on master-planned communities, development applications, planning appeal litigation, and due diligence.
Krystal holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours Class 1) from Bond University, along with a Diploma of Legal Studies and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice. She has also contributed to the legal community by tutoring Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander law students and co-authoring publications on related legal topics. Krystal was admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Queensland in November 2019.
